About Hailsham Youth Council...

Hailsham Youth Council is Hailsham's young voice and the team of young people running the group aspire to make a positive contribution to the local community in which they live.


Launched in September 2009 and consisting of a small group of dedicated 11 to 16 year olds, HYC works in partnership with local authorities, schools, voluntary organisations, youth clubs and other community-focused organisations.

HYC was established to represent the views of young people in Hailsham. Ideas and concerns on a wide number of issues are passed on to the Town Council, and can in turn be addressed by town, district and county councillors accordingly.
